Krystal Thomas is a Government Program Specialist in MBA’s Residential Policy and Member Engagement Team. In this role, Krystal is responsible for managing MBA’s state strategic partnerships with state and local mortgage banking associations across the country. Krystal’s focus while cultivating these relationships is to promote advocacy initiatives, effective communication, and business development. She also supports MBA’s member engagement networks.
With a background in conflict resolution and community engagement, Krystal is dedicated to promoting the need for diversity and inclusion in the workplace. She co-leads mPact, MBA’s network of more than 1800 young professionals within the real estate finance industry. Krystal continues to grow the initiative with the intent of creating opportunities for future leaders to engage with industry experts. In addition, she was instrumental in launching EMBRACE, MBA’s internal diversity and inclusion program. She also coordinates a host of external MBA events focused on Diversity and Inclusion Initiative within the real estate finance industry and supports the D&I Advisory Committee.
In her spare time, Krystal is on the leadership team of Just Homes, a locally based initiative which focuses on addressing housing affordability and access within Washington DC.
